New Mexico Mentoring Program - Information and FormsThe NRCS Mentoring Program is designed to encourage career development, improve communication among our diverse workforce at different grade levels and in different mission areas. You can assist the USDA NRCS in achieving its goals of greater diversity at every grade level by participating in this dynamic program. This program is administered by the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) along from the representatives from different mission areas. This program is available to all USDA NRCS employees and everyone is encouraged to participate. Mentoring ProcessEmployees interested in serving as Mentors may complete the "Application for Mentors," form and return the completed form to the State Administrative Officer. Employees may request a Mentor from the Mentor pool or a Mentor will be assigned to you. Factors the employees should consider are:
It is suggested that supervisors not serve as a Mentor for employees they supervise. The Mentor should be someone outside the chain of command. Employees may also request the assistance of the Mentoring Coordinator and/or the Human Resources Office in identifying potential Mentors.
