Navajo Office to Serve Remote Region

New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah state conservationists led by NRCS West Region Assistant Chief, Sara Braasch, met with Navajo leaders March 7-8, 2007, and signed a cooperative agreement opening a new office on a remote portion of the reservation.  These historic firsts set the stage for Chapter leaders, who are well-prepared and have clear ideas about where they want to go with the land and assistance. The New Mexico NRCS staff is finalizing the development of contracts for Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) applications that ranked the highest during the 2007 application period, and moving forward on implementing both this year’s and prior years’ contracts.  For EQIP information
