Conservation Innovation Grants in 2009
The deadline for proposals for the 2009 State
CIG is 4:00
p.m. Friday, May 15,
2009.
New Mexico
NRCS requests applications for Conservation Innovation Grants
(CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative
conservation approaches and technologies. Applications are accepted for
projects located in New Mexico only.
NRCS
anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in
FY 2009 will be approximately
$150,000. Funds will be awarded through a statewide competitive grants
process. There are two state
CIG categories
available in FY 2009:
Natural Resource Concerns Category
and Technology Category.
NRCS New Mexico will prioritize proposals including a riparian
restoration component, but will consider all eligible applications.
Applications are requested from eligible individuals, non-federal
government and non-government organizations for competitive
consideration of grant awards for projects between one and three years
in duration.
Note: Please
be aware that applications for projects with potentially adverse impacts
may need to be modified in order to achieve acceptable and beneficial
levels of environmental impact. If projects cannot be modified, then
there is a potential during the screening process that the application
may not be selected.
