The purpose of this Irrigation Guide is to provide
irrigation information to be used by the Natural Resources Conservation
Service (NRCS) employees in both the planning
of farm irrigation systems and the planning and application of on-farm
irrigation systems and the planning and application of on-farm irrigation
water management.
The Irrigation Guide is an important part of basic
resource data analysis and therefore is, by reference, a recognized part
of the field office technical guide.
The information in this guide is to supplement national
guidelines and has been tailored to reflect the special needs of New
Mexico.
In an effort to give employees the best data available,
and at the same time to keep abreast of new developments in irrigation
technology, this guide has been developed with the following major
